Greeks and immigrants, common struggle against the neo-nazi thugs of Golden Dawn (Chrisi Augi)!
The economic crisis in Greece has hit the poor people in Greece very hard. The Troika and the Greek government are pushing measures of austerity and cuts, in order to save the banks and big capital.In this desperate situation (for both Greek and immigrant workers) a neo-fascist party has emerged, called Golden Dawn. They try to channel the fury of the Greek workers towards the immigrants, saying that they are the cause of unemployment and criminality. They have made numerous criminal attacks on immigrants (but also Greeks that stand against them), especially in the center of Athens (Aghios Panteleimonas).
If they are let to grow bigger, they will try to impose a society with concentration camps for immigrants, violent deportations, war against other countries in the area, a society with no democratic rights. They vision to bring about regimes like those of Hitler and the military junta of Greece. We cannot let that happen!
At the same time, the antifascist movement is growing in a lot of cities and neighborhoods. It is important to get organized in every neighborhood, Greeks and immigrants together, to stop Golden Dawn, and to find solutions in the day-to-day problems that we all face.
What does it mean to get organized?
We should organize joint meetings to discuss our problems and find solutions.
We should campaign massively in the neighborhood to inform everybody about the real record and intentions of Golden Dawn (with leaflets, public meetings, ect).

We should organize solidarity actions: food distribution for the poorer inhabitants, cloth and basic necessities hand-outs for those in need, linking with social movements (ex the movement that organized an “alternative market”, binging goods directly from the farmers at a lower price), ect. This will create social bonds between the people in the neighborhood, leaving no space for the rise of racist ideas.
We should organize our self-defense against the attacks of the fascists. Massive participation of both Greeks and immigrants will protect the neighborhood.
